Honda and Acura EV Owners Can Charge With Tesla: A Major Milestone for EV Charging in Canada

Drivers of the new Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX now have something big to celebrate. With the launch of the first Honda-approved NACS-CCS DC fast-charging adapter, Canadian EV owners can plug into selected Tesla Supercharger stations across North America. This means access to more than 25,000 high-speed Supercharger stalls, opening the door to faster road-trip charging, easier travel planning and greater confidence for everyday driving.

Honda confirmed the news on October 6, 2025, from its Canadian headquarters in Markham, ON, marking a major step forward in charging accessibility. The adapter will support DC fast-charging at any compatible NACS station, provided it’s used with the Prologue or ZDX. It’s the only DC fast-charging adapter approved by Honda after testing for performance and compatibility.

Built for Reliability and Peace of Mind

Unlike generic adapters from online retailers, the new NACS-CCS adapter is fully tested and approved by Honda. Tesla requires the use of approved adapters for charging at its Supercharger stations, and Honda strongly recommends following that guidance. Damage caused by an unapproved adapter may not be covered under the vehicle’s limited warranty, making the OEM-approved part the clear and safe choice.

Canadian drivers can purchase the adapter through authorized Honda or Acura dealerships nationwide, with a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $400. It’s a small investment that unlocks one of the largest and most reliable charging networks available today.

Charging Made Easier with Built-In Tools

Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX owners don’t need to spend time hunting for charging stations. The standard in-vehicle Google built-in Maps feature now displays authorized Tesla Supercharger locations directly on the infotainment screen. Drivers can plan routes, view nearby chargers and navigate with a simple tap.

At launch, users will need the Tesla app to start a charging session at a Supercharger. HondaLink and Acura EV app integration is already in development, along with future plug-and-charge functionality designed to simplify the experience even further. That means over time, charging will become even more seamless, intuitive and connected to the vehicle’s systems.

Honda’s Broader Charging Vision

This move is part of a much larger strategy. By 2030, Honda and Acura EV owners are expected to have access to roughly 100,000 DC fast-charging points across North America, including Tesla Superchargers, the all-new IONNA network and other open charging providers.

The vision is clear: make EV ownership easier, reduce charging uncertainty and ensure that long-distance electric travel feels as natural as filling up at a gas station. The Prologue and ZDX are the first models to benefit, and future Honda and Acura EVs will continue this compatibility trend.

A Strong Canadian Legacy

Honda Canada has played a major role in the country’s automotive industry for decades. Since forming in 1969, Honda Canada has grown into the parent company for both the Honda and Acura brands. It has invested more than $21 billion into Canadian operations, sourcing over $3 billion in goods and services from Canadian suppliers every year.

With over 10 million vehicles built at its Alliston, Ontario manufacturing facilities, and more than five million Honda and Acura vehicles sold across the country, the introduction of broader charging access represents the next chapter in Honda Canada’s journey.

Driving the Future of Electric Mobility

For Canadian drivers, this announcement isn’t just a new accessory. It’s a statement about the future of electric mobility. Touring across provinces, tackling long winter roads or exploring new regions becomes easier with faster charging in more places. That added freedom will help shape the EV experience for years to come. Honda and Acura EV owners don’t just get a new adapter. They gain confidence, flexibility and a growing network that supports their move toward zero-emission driving. Get in contact with us at Regina Honda in Regina, SK to learn more!
